Vincenzo Galilei was an Italian lutenist, composer, and music theorist and the father of the astronomer Galileo. Born 1520-04-03 (505 years ago) in Santa Maria a Monte, Pisa, Tuscany, Italy. Died 1591-07-02 in Florence, Italy (aged 71).
